Geophysik – Animationen von Erdbeben

The modelling algorithms are based on spatial and temporal discretization of the equations of motion. This leads to a numerical grid on which the wave field and the material properties are defined. The spatial partial derivatives were calculated in the wave number domain with high accuracy using fast Fourier transforms (FFT).
